<p><span style="color: #525263; font-family: Meiryo;"><span style="font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.75px;">現代中国の国家的シンボルとして世界中で親しまれている動物のパンダ。その愛くるしい姿は人類の健康と繁栄の象徴でもあることから広く親しまれています。1982年に中華人民共和国がリリースしたパンダ金貨はまさに中国の正の遺産として今日まで受け継がれ、今や地金型コインの最高傑作の一つとして国際的に認知されています。1967年に発表された南アフリカの「クルーガーランド金貨」や1979年発表のカナダの「メープルリーフ金貨」に続いて世に出た中国の「パンダ金貨」ですが、個人が金を保有することがまだ多分に稀であった時代であったこともあり、コンパクトで持ち歩きにも便利な手軽な実物資産として世界的な注目を集めました。毎年異なるパンダのデザインが発表される点も同地金型コインの絶大な人気に繋がっていることは確かです。とりわけ2020年には、子パンダの成長を描く新たなシリーズの詳細が発表され、それまでには無い新しい企画として好意的に受け入れられた感があります。そこに描かれていた子パンダの姿は人間の子供の仮の姿を映し出していたことからも微笑ましいものであり、普遍的な実物資産である地金型コインの題材として相応しいものであったと断言できます。また現在世界第2位の大国としての道を歩み続ける中国の限りない未来の展望を反映するものでもあり、国家のイメージを著しく高揚させることに貢献しています。中国南部からベトナムにかけての地域に生息する野生動物としてのパンダは、笹を捕食する草食動物として知られていますが、西欧社会においてパンダが正確に認識されるようになるのは20世紀以降のことで、19世紀初頭には動物学的には全く異なるアライグマの一種である「レッサーパンダ」がパンダであるとされていた時代もありました。我々が知る本当のパンダは白黒の体毛で覆われたクマ科の動物の方です。1980年代の自由開放政策の導入以前から中華人民共和国のシンボルとして、欧米や日本を始めとする諸外国に貸し出されることが頻繁にあったパンダですが、いわゆる「パンダ外交」の主役として愛され、それらの国家と中国の恒久的な交流と親善に寄与したことが忘れられません。今回ご紹介させていただくコインは、自由主義路線を取り入れて以降の現代中国の真の主役といえるパンダを描く100元1オンス金貨の1988年度版です。主食の笹を掲げて佇むかわいらしい子パンダが描かれていて感動を誘います。丸々としたその肢体は高純度のゴールドの輝きも相まって独特の存在感を表出しています。コイン裏面には中国の首都北京のランドマークであり、同国の国家的象徴として存在する天壇が描かれています。明王朝時代の1420年に時の皇帝永楽帝によって創建されたと伝えられる天壇は、明と清の両王朝の歴代皇帝たちが五穀豊穣を願って祈祷を捧げる場所として機能していました。現在は北京市民の憩いの場として、また北京を訪れる観光客にとっては市内随一の観光スポットとして、ユネスコの世界遺産として登録されている歴史的建造物ならではの重厚感を漂わせています。1982年に初発行となったパンダ地金型金貨ですが、1オンス、１/2オンス、１/4オンス、1/10オンス、１/20オンスの5種類のラインアップが用意されており、予算に合わせて選択できる点が喜ばれています。当コインは100元の額面が付与された1オンスのタイプですが、1988年発行のヴィンテージ品であることから21世紀の今日においては中々目にすることがないものです。世界の中心で繁栄を極める中国の理想を一身に体現するパンダを描く当コインは、中国を愛する全てのコレクターに、また現代中国の限りない繁栄に期待を寄せるコイン投資家に贈られるべき理想的なヴィンテージ地金型コインに他なりません。</span></span></p>
